A large figure “2” superimposed on the map of South Africa. On an incomplete band around and above, a laurel branch on the left and right and: “1969” at the top. At the foot, outside the band, two crossed Protea flowers. Signed: “P.B” between the stems. The silver medal stamped: “SILVER” to the right.

The silver medal comes inside an unmarked blue case lined with white silk and blue velvet.
South Africa was barred from taking part in the 19th Olympic Games in Mexico City, Mexico, during 1968 over South Africa's refusal to condemn apartheid. These games were organised in 1969 as an alternative for South African athletes.
