Both medals come protected inside a clear plastic capsule in a case with a certificate stamped with the issue number. The case for the gold medal is red and the certificate states a mintage of 2,000. The case for the silver medal is blue and the certificated states a mintage of 10,000.
The medal was commissioned by the First National Bank and minted for Education Africa.
Tenth oz medals were also made.
The value of these medals represents a large premium over the metal price. This premium may not be sustained.
