Notes: Koeberg nuclear power station is the only such power station on the African continent. It is located 30 km north of Cape Town on the west coast of South Africa. Koeberg is owned and operated by the country's national electricity supplier, ESKOM. It was constructed between 1976 and 1985 by a consortium of French companies. The civil work was undertaken by Spie Batignolles working in partnership with the South African Company Murray & Roberts. The author of this website was a physicist, employed during the early stages of the construction.
