Obverse: Seated figure of Flora, left, shield bearing coat of arms of Cape Town and spilling cornucopia on right, banana trees behind, in distance on left, Table Mountain. Legend on a raised roughened band above: "CAPE OF GOOD HOPE AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY". Cross between stops at the foot.

Reverse: Legend at top: "CAPE TOWN". Wreath of wheat tied with a ribbon at the bottom enclosing space for engraving. This medal: "To W. de Bank for the best sample of Tobacco Exhibited 1860".

Notes: The Cape of Good Hope Agricultural Society was established in 1831 and presented shows in The Gardens, Rosebank and Goodwood. In 1996 the Society registered Agri-Expo as the marketing brand.
