Edge: Plain.

Obverse: Artillery gun in front of ox wagon, pyramid of rifles and standing soldier, mountain behind, dove above flying left with olive branch in beak. Legend on a raised band above: "TRANSVAAL SOUTH AFRICA" and below between sprigs of laurel(?): "PEACE".

Reverse: Engraved across: "PRESENTED BY / E SQUADRON / TROUPERS / TO / QUARTER-MASTER / JACKSON / AUG. 26 1902".

Notes: It is believed that this medal was presented to 7059 Quartermaster-Sergeant John Frederick Jackson of the E Squadron (North Island Regiment), 9th NZ Contingent.
