The National Football League B.P. Trophy Competition was won in 1964 by Highlands Park F.C., a professional association football club in Johannesburg that existed from November 1959 to February 1983.

The National Football League (NFL) was established in 1959 and was the first professional association football league in South Africa. By 1964 clubs from the Transvaal, Durban, Cape Town, Bloemfontein and Port Elizabeth were members of the League. The NFL folded after 18 years in 1977 and it was superseded by a non-racial league, the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL). This in turn gave way, in 1997, to the present Premier Soccer League (PSL).
