Obverse: View of Koeberg Nuclear Power Station from the sea, Table Mountain behind. On a raised band above: "KOEBERG NUCLEAR POWER STATION" and below between diamond stops: "KOEBERG-KERNKRAGSENTRALE".

Reverse: Across: "FRAMATOME / ALSTHOM / SPIE BATIGNOLLES / FRAMATEG / 1976-1985". In an arc above: "ESCOM" and below: "EVKOM" above which is stamped: "9CT".

Notes: Koeberg nuclear power station is the only such power station on the African continent. It is located 30 km north of Cape Town on the west coast of South Africa. Koeberg is owned and operated by the country's national electricity supplier, ESKOM. It was constructed between 1976 and 1985 by a consortium of French companies whose names appear of the reverse of the medal. The author of this website was a physicist, employed during the early stages of the construction.

The gold medal come inside a fitted red leather-like case, lined on the inside with while silk-like and red velvet-like material. It was presented to senior members of ESCOM and Government officials by the consortium during the hand-over ceremony in 1985.

The bronze medal comes inside a beige fitted cardboard box.
