Sovenier of a visit by the Transvaal Numismatic Society to Pilgrims Rest.
Pilgrims Rest (Pelgrimsrus) is a small town in the Mpumalanga province, north east South Africa. Gold was discovered there in 1873. Pilgrims Rest was the location of an emergency mint during the Boer War. This mint struck the famous and extremely rare Veld Pond.
